I am the first member of the Beilstein lab at the University of Arizona. Originally from Sri Lanka, my academic and personal journey have taken me all around the world and throughout the United States. I have expertise in Plant Biology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. In the lab I work with various species of plants in the Brassicaceae, particularly on cultivation.

In my spare time I enjoy eating out. I'm particularly happy when my kitchen is closed. Sleeping is one of my major hobbies, as is travel. As a note, I am on the left of the picture, taken with a Maori tribesman in New Zealand.
