Chris Kouris - Undergraduate Researcher

Picture

I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona. I am a Tucson local and I am Pre Nursing major. I  just recently joined Mark Beilstein’s lab in spring of 2017. In lab, I am studying lincRNAs and their association with salt stress responses in a variety of plant species. The goal is to discover the areas of the genome that play a role in salt stress response and how these areas function.

Outside of lab, I play Club baseball for the University of Arizona. I enjoy living an active lifestyle which includes: walking my dog and going to the gym. I am also a part of the Undergraduate Biology Research Program at the University of Arizona, which I will begin summer of 2017. Other activities I enjoy doing are going to the movies and playing video games. Spending time with my family and friends is also a very important aspect of my life.
